Started barbel fishing in 1970 on the Thames after being inspired by Mr Crabtree. Had one that year, another the next year and although Ive had a few from other rivers in the meantime, didnt get another Thames barb until this year. At the risk of being ridiculed, I don't mind catching bream while I wait for the barbs.
